01 / Story

A plastic ribbon returns to the loom.

Designer Lina Rickardsson revived the Swedish technique of weaving plastic ribbon after discovering an old school loom. Pappelina developed the material into reversible, washable rugs woven in Leksand.

1999
Lina Rickardsson begins experimenting with plastic ribbon.
2001
The first Pappelina rug collection launches.
